Christ the King Sunday

In worship this week we will be celebrating Christ the King Sunday, which is placed at the end of the church year, the Sunday before Advent begins. On this day Christ is proclaimed “the goal of human history, the focal point of the desires of history and civilization, the center of humankind, the joy of all hearts, and the fulfillment of all aspirations.” And so we joyfully bow our knee and confess with our mouth that Christ, the Word made flesh, is also our crucified, risen, ruling, and returning Lord.
